I don’t like to brag.
BUT I’m about to…AHEM.
I photograph people, weddings and other events because I like it. NO, that’s not right, I LOVE IT! I get to be part of some of the most memorable moments in peoples lives. I have fun doing what I do and that is what makes me good at it. When you can find something you like to do that is reward enough. When you get accolades for doing somehting you like, THAT my friends is the ultimate high.
My work is being showcased on J.CREWS website in the ‘Wedding’ section. http://www.jcrew.com/wedding.jsp
This is the first time they are showcasing a photographers work that deosn’t work for J.CREW and is not using models (although the Michelle aka the bride and Jamie aka the groom could be.) I have posted this insanely incredible wedding on my blog before, but I figure I’d showcase the pages from the JCREW website. Read on for what Michelle was quoted as saying on http://www.jcrew.com/wedding.jsp.

“For our NYC wedding, what better place to take our pictures than on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge? We got nervous when a policeman on a scooter approached us, but he had just stopped to offer me a ride up the bridge – I think he felt bad for me in my 4inch heels.” – Michelle
(jason- see blow for the police escort photo. one of my all time favorite ‘in the moment’ photos!)
“This is my favorite shot of us on the Brooklyn Bridge. Doesn’t my husband, Jamie, look hot in this picture? My hands are in my pockets (one of the reasons I picked this dress). I got married with Chap Stick in one of them.” – Michelle
“This is the warehouse where we held the ceremony and reception. I love the church-like feel of the beamed ceiling mixed with the brass chandeliers. Our wedding was on a beautiful day in October, so we had the Garage door up and people were spilling out into the street…” – Michelle
“This is a photo of the J.CREW people at the wedding. I’ve known most of them for 7 plus years, and even though I no longer work there, we all remain dear friends. They all helped make our wedding such a special day. …and Jason Durnin (jasondurnin.com)…was our amazing photographer!” – Michelle
“I love this gown. A few years ago, I had a feeling that Jamie would be proposing, so I sneaked a sample to try on in the J.CREW bathroom and sent some photos to my mother. Little did I know, my parents were already in NYC-they had flown up for the surprise engagement party Jamie was planning for the very next day. I love the dress so much I’m having it dyed black so I can wear it again and again.” – Michelle
“This huge road sign suddenly appeared two days before our wedding day, right outside our ceremony location. We called 311, the Sanitation Department, even the NYPD, but clearly it wasn’t going anywhere. So what else could we do but pose with it? Another one of my favorite pics…” – Michelle
Hi! This is Jason again…I had to throw in another of my favorites.
